# FileGuard

> Free, secure, ephemeral file and folder sharing platform with pre-flight SHA-256 cryptographic integrity verification, strict 12-hour self-destruct, and privacy-focused anonymous transfers.

## Overview
FileGuard allows users to upload single files, multiple files, or entire folder hierarchies up to 100 MB per transfer without registration or accounts. Files automatically self-destruct after 12 hours from both object storage and database catalogs.

## Key Capabilities
- **Strict 12-Hour Retention**: Authoritative server-clock deadline ensures zero lingering storage blocks.
- **Pre-Flight Integrity Gate**: Computes live SHA-256 before streaming bytes to clients, halting tampered files with HTTP 409.
- **Dynamic In-Memory Bundling**: Multiple files or entire folder trees are zipped in memory, preserving directory structures.
- **Privacy-First Ephemeral Vault**: Client-side history in localStorage synchronizes live status without server accounts.
- **Client-IP Quota Controls**: Fair-use limit of 100 MB per rolling 12 hours per client IP address.
